Review: Dollar Shave Club

I got my Dollar Shave Club shipment in the mail yesterday and I am SO excited! While is looks like a REALLY good deal, I wasn’t sure how the quality would be, I mean, it’s $1 for 5 blades!  I saw a shiny silver package in my mailbox and had no idea what it was.  I only ordered it last Wednesday evening…how could it be here THIS soon?!  But when I read it was from them, I ripped it open to check it out.  There was a package of 5 blades attached to a card that talks about the program itself and a stainless steel handle to fit the blades!  The blades looked good, but looks can be deceiving, I’ve had some really bad ones before.  Can you say blood transfusion?  Just kidding, but you get the point.

Okay, so I tried them.  Dual blades with the aloe strip.  They worked great!  I would say they were as great as the Gillette razors I hadbeen stealing from my husband.  :)  I mean, did I say that?  Yes, I did.  I steal his razors normally because they work so much better for me.  They normally shave so much better and don’t give me razor burn.  Guess what?!  These razors worked just as well…but are SO much cheaper.  I am seriously hooked on these!  I’m excited I can get 5 blades every month and not have to try so hard to stretch out the good ones I buy at the store because they are SO expensive to buy the replacement blades.

So overall, I give them 2 thumbs up.  It works great, super cheap and you know I love cheap!  So if you were wondering about them, you should try it out.

Stop paying ridiculous prices for razors every month. Join the Dollar Shave Club and save almost $200 on annual shaving costs! For as low as $1.25 a month, they ship 5 of their Gillette Sensor-compatible “Ninja Blade” cartridges right to your door. These are no slouchy razors either. The Ninja Blades have everything a razor should: twin stainless steel blades, an Aloe Vera lubricating strip, a pivot head, and compatibility with all Gillette Sensor sticks. Joining is easy: Simply choose your plan and checkout. Plans come in 2-Year ($24), 1-Year ($18), 6-Month ($10.74), and there is even a Pay-As-You-Go Plan ($1.99) for the commitment-phobic shaver. They also have a bulk-ship option: Instead of monthly shipments, you can opt to have all the cartridges (e.g. 12 cassettes of 5 cartridges for the 1-year plan) shipped at once instead.

Happy Shaving!!

Got my blades…, after shaving the first time, I would bet my remaining 59 blades that the good reviews are written by people that work for Dollar Shave…, not impressed myself.., I usually use shick quattro, with heated cream, badger brush applied with preshave oil…, so I have a good system that works.., used same system with these blades and cut myself up…., blades flex too much …. too cheap to return…, thats how they make money I guess….,

I also, consider myself a seasoned shaver after 15 years of it. I cut the shit out of myself with their “executive” Hannibal blade. Switching back to Mach 3 and the higher cost. I don’t enjoy cutting the shit out of my face on a regular basis, and I sure as shit don’t mine dishing out another 5$ to avoid it.

A better shaving system is the old safety razor from companies like mekur (German) or Parker for handles of course and safety blades. Blades can be as cheap as 3¢ or 10¢ each. Normally last for a week. At 10¢ a blade that’s $1.20 a year. It was good enough for your grandfathers –

I love comments!
