“Is it done?” Impatiently you reply, “Not yet, quit talking or it won’t give the right temperature!” Then your child replies whining, “But it hurts my tongue!” I know you know what I’m talking about. A sick child is the worst when you are trying to take their temperature. That 30 seconds seems to take a year and then they move it and it says their temp is only 95 degrees. Ugh, now you have to start all over again! This is how our house always sounds when someone is sick, I really hate having to take anyone’s temperature. When I was offered the Exergen Temporal Scanner to try out, I was really excited! I could just run it across their forehead and it would work?! Sounds too good to be true.
When I take the kids to the doctor they used thermometers like this, but I thought they were too expensive to buy for the home. I was surprised to see that these are available for about $32 at Walmart and Amazon. That’s totally worth it. I tried it on my kids just to see how easily it worked. I ran it across each of their foreheads and within a matter of seconds I had their temperature. No need for an annoying under-the-tongue thermometer. My kids thought it was the greatest thing ever. Diego wanted to check everyone’s temperature, of course his reads didn’t come out correct, but he was able to do it. Just hold down the big button and run it across the forehead. beep beep beep…your temperature can be read on the screen! It’s awesome!
This would have been so nice to have when the kids were babies! So much easier than traditional thermometers. I think I know what I’m getting for my friends when they have baby showers! So much more practical than the million newborn outfits they will receive from everyone else! I love buying things that they will actually be able to use than things that just look cute or whatever.
As you gently stroke the thermometer across the forehead crossing over the temporal artery, the sensor in its probe performs two processes:First it scans like a video camera, capturing naturally emitted infrared heat from the arterial blood supply at about 1000 “frames” per second, locking in the highest termperature it senses and;Second, at the same time, a patented system measures the ambient temperature of the site where the temperature is being taken. The patented “arterial heat balance” (AHB) software then synthesizes the two seperate readings to accurately determine and display body temperature.
As with any thermometer, taking temperatures properly is critical to obtaining accurate temperatures, so please read all instructions carefully and thoroughly before using this product.
