Day 18: SNOWFLAKES!
Snowflakes are amazing, each is unique and each is gorgeous. I wanted to make some gorgeous paper snowflakes, but wanted something more than the normal cut out ones. This pattern is so much simpler than it looks. I want to make a bunch of them and hang them all over my house!
- Pretty scrapbook paper or card stock
- Glue stick (I find Craft Bond works the best…it holds REALLY well)
Directions:
Cut 12 strips of paper 3/4″. I left my strips the 10 inches that scrapbook paper is to make it easiest to see in my tutorial, but you can make it as large or as small as you’d like.
First glue the 2 pieces on top of each other. Then put glue as the arrows show in the above picture. Place one strip on each side of the center strip.
You are going to create a weave pattern by placing a strip under the center strip as shown above. The glue you placed in the past step will hold it in place. Add another strip, using the same method on the other side. This will give you 3 strips in each direction.
Flip your strips over. Glue each of the corners as shown above. You will have 4 of these points. Now repeat the above steps to create your second side of the snowflake.
Place your two pieces on top of each other as shown. You want each side to have the printed paper center on the outside. Make sure your points do not match up, you want them to fit into each other. Each point should have a straight strip of paper to match up to.
Glue each point to the straight strip of paper it matches up to.
