Day 12: Snowman
Snowmen are my favorite during the holiday season. I created this cute snowman ornament out of very inexpensive supplies. He/she is adorable hanging on your tree, and you can get your kids involved in creating a bunch of these! Here is the walk-through to create this cute little guy/girl (mine is a girl, since I used pink ear muffs).
- Clear Christmas bulb (I bought mine at Michael’s for $0.79 but I have seen them in packs for 4 or 6 at the Dollar Tree as well)
- Snowflakes (You can get a large bag for about $2 in most places)
- Pipe cleaner (I prefer the glittery ones, but any will do)
- Small amounts of felt (orange for the nose and any other color for the scarf)
- Black paint or permanent marker (I used an Elmer’s Painters Marker, but you can use puff paint or a marker)
- Hot glue gun
Remove the top of your bulb and fill with snowflakes. You want this to be filled almost to the top. Put the top back on your bulb so you don’t spill the flakes.
Coil each end of your pipe cleaner. This will become your snowman’s earmuffs. Curl each end until you have just enough in the middle to fit over your snowman’s head. Hot glue the ear muffs to each side of the bulb.
Cut a strip of felt about 3/4 inch in width and about 10 inches in length. Remember, you can always trim it if it is too long, but you can’t add more length if it’s cut too short! With a dab of hot glue, attach the felt to the back of your bulb. Wrap the felt around the front, crossing in the front. Use a small dab of hot glue to hold in place. You can cut small slits in each end of the scarf if you’d like.

This is SO CUTE!!
Awe, thanks!
