My 5-year-old, Diego loves watching learning videos that are fun and interactive.  He will watch them over and over, dancing around and answering questions.  Rock ‘N Learn has the most amazing videos to help teach your child reading, math, science and more.  I was asked to review the Rock ‘N Learn Sight Words DVD.

About Rock ‘N Learn:

Rock ‘N Learn programs help students learn math, phonics, reading, early childhood, social studies, Spanish, test-taking strategies, writing, and science. Our DVDs incorporate music with exciting, colorful imagery.

About Sight Words DVD:

Sight words are the most frequently used words in the English language, and this DVD helps students read them automatically. As a supplement to phonics-based strategies, Rock ‘N Learn Sight Words boosts reading and spelling skills. Children learn over 60 sight words through engaging characters, entertaining songs, and fun practice. Words are presented in context to help build reading comprehension. Includes all pre-primer Dolch words, the top 20 from Fry’s, and more. A bonus section helps kids with word shapes and spelling skills.

My thoughts:

When the package came in the mail, my son had come home early after a field trip….so it worked out perfectly!  We popped the DVD in and he was so excited.  He watched the movie two times, back-to-back.  The first time he didn’t know all the words, but the second time he did much better.  He loved reading the story along with the characters.  He has asked to watch it several times since that day.  I really liked how the story would be told while the words were shown on the screen, so my son could follow along.
