This is my pup, Jacob on the day he was born. He is much bigger than this now, but he was about 2 hours old in this picture. He is a Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix. We found his mom on the side of the road, I actually jumped out of the car and stopped a car from hitting her. We never found her owners, but quickly found out she was pregnant. My husband had to help her deliver Jacob. Well, it’s finally time to train him. He’s always been a little out there, so we started training him later than normal because, well, he’s scared of everything. You’d never know we had him since birth, he hides when you call him….he has since he was able to walk around.
To start training, you need some amazing treats to get the dogs motivated! First stop, Walmart! I know I’ll be able to find some awesome Milk-Bone® treats that Jake will love. You can see my full shopping experience via my Google+ photo album.
When I first walked into Walmart, I noticed they had dog toys in the bins. These were the first thing I saw..it was like they knew I was coming to buy things for my pup.
There was a great selection of Milk-Bone® products available for me to choose from. There are so many different types of bones. In the past I remember there being bones for small or large dogs, but now there are SO many to choose from. Oh my goodness, which do I choose from?
Pup-Peroni treats are always a favorite! I know these will be great to get Jake motivated, now to choose which type! I love they carry a line of Lean Pup-Peroni treats! Less fat means a healthier dog!
Milo’s Kitchen Chicken Jerky! Oh my! Wow, that even sounds good to me! I know Jacob will love it!
After getting my treats I was going to pick up some dog food, but it was closed off. As I was looking at the toys and clothing around the area, the man hit the boxes of Milk-Bone® dog treats that were stacked up and almost hit me! I had to jump out of the way!
There is an amazing coupon on some of the boxes of Milk-Bone® products, giving you $2 off Milo’s Kitchen or Pup-Peroni when you purchase the box of bones! The smaller bags were about $2.49, so with this coupon they are only $0.49! Yay!!
Well, we have the Milk-Bone® bones, Lean Pup-Peroni and Milo’s Kitchen Chicken Jerky…..so now it’s time to get to work! Let the training begin! Be on the look out for my next post about that experience!
