Thrifty FASHION Ninja – Under $20 outfits

Under $20 Outfit

I took on a position with the Albuquerque Westside Chamber of Commerce on their Board of Directors, which meant I had to start dressing up.  I mean, I can’t go to meetings in the jeans and Nike’s that I’ve always worn.  I didn’t even know where to start, so I called in the experts.  I hadn’t dressed in anything other than jeans and Nike’s for over 6 years…so I didn’t even know where to start.  First person to call?  The amazing Shelley at Still Blonde After All These Years was the first person I had to talk to.  She is the fashion guru.  After taking some advice, I started shopping.

I don’t have a ton of money to work with, so I had to be creative with my outfits to get the most for my money.  They don’t call me “Thrifty Ninja” for nothing, right?  During this transformation from Mommydom to Fashionista I found a new favorite store….Ross.  One of my good friends said to go check Ross, so of course I had to check it out.  I hadn’t been in years.

I found this dress and fell in love!  I tried it on and it fit like it was made just for me.  Best thing?  It was only $12.99!  Yep, that’s right.  $12.99 for this amazing dress!  They had a BUNCH of other items that I’ll talk about in my next posts, but yes, they are amazing.  Amazing price and dress is so awesome.

So you see the amazing shoes?  They are cute, right?  They are Steve Madden.  I saw these and fell in love.  You will never guess where I found them.  We were out looking at yard sales this weekend and I saw these sitting there.  Looking all cute and amazing.  I checked them out and they were like brand new.  I don’t know that they were ever worn.  I think they were some that were bought, they realized that they hurt their feet so they sat in the closet until this sale.  So they cost me $5.  I know some people freak out about getting shoes at a place like a yard sale….guess what?  People try on shoes all day long at the stores and decide not to buy them.  What’s the difference?  Clean them up and you are good to go.   It’s not like you are going to want to

Total cost of outfit?

This entire outfit cost me $17.99.  Yep, this amazing outfit for less than $20!  It isn’t hard to do.  It is all about knowing where to find the best deals.  I bet that everyone that saw me out at my meeting today had no idea that my entire outfit only cost about $20.  Go me!

I love comments!
