We all want to look our best when we leave the house. How many times when you try to look your best, but something happens and you aren’t sure how to fix it. Here are some of my favorite Beauty Disasters solved using simple do-it-yourself techniques!
Perfectly painted nails!
We all have done it, you’re painting your nails and end up with polish on the skin around the nail. It is such a pain to remove with nail polish remover, especially if you have any type of small cut there. That stings! To save yourself the hassle, just try this:
Using a Q-tip, apply greasy lotion around your nail. DO NOT get it on the nail itself or the polish will not stick! Apply your polish and when it has dried just rub in the lotion to help moisturize your cuticles! It’s a win/win!
Smudge-proof eye makeup:
Especially during the summer I have issues with my eye make up smudging. My eye lids must get oily because within a few hours I don’t have any eye liner on anymore..it drives me insane! To help resolve this, use an oil blotting issue and remove as much oil as possible before applying your make up. If you don’t have any of the tissues, you can you also try using tissue paper, I’ve done that in a jam and it worked!
Sunburned skin:
We all know we should be applying sun screen, but sometimes we forget or it wears off. Sunburned skin is not attractive and it hurts! After you leave the sun, apply a layer of honey (yep, that yummy delicious stuff) all over the burned area. Allow it to sit on your skin for about 5 minutes or until it begins to drip too much. I have stood in the bathtub before so the drips don’t get on the floor or whatever. Take a shower to rinse the honey off and your the sting of the burn will be gone and the redness should be much less by the following day.
Dark skin under your arm:
I used to hate raising my arms if I was wearing a sleeveless top because of dark spots under my arms. They don’t look attractive in any way. Using Dove Clear Tone Deodorant for several weeks have cleared all the skin under my arms. They are perfectly clear and the skin looks so much better and softer!
Sweaty feet, gross!
I learned this from my husband! If you are going to be out in the heat and are worried about your feet sweating too much or you just have smelly feet (like my son), wash feet and allow to fully try. Apply an Antiperspirant/Deodorant to the bottoms of your feet. A spray is easiest, obviously, but a normal stick will work as well! You’ll be amazed!

Thank you for these tips. The sunburn one will come in very handy in my family. We keep buying products just for sunburns but honey is cheaper and we have it. My daughter really liked the idea about the lotion on the skin around your nails. She likes to have hers painted but hates the mess.
Thanks for sharing such wonderful tips
