It has been nearly a year since I have clipped coupons….I know, I know..I’m the Thrifty Ninja, how can I NOT coupon! I got busy and just didn’t have the time to keep up with the sales and coupon match ups…..but I’ve realized one really important thing. I can’t afford NOT to coupon. The price of everything is going up and I can’t afford to pay for groceries if I don’t start saving every chance I get. I have three growing kids that could eat us out of house and home…it’s time to get real. If I want to be able to keep up with rising prices, I have to cut back and spend the time clipping coupons.
So the journey starts here…………
I have NO coupons in my binder…actually, where is my binder?! I might need to start over with that binder! So let’s get started!
First, I need a binder, divider tabs and baseball card holders (recently found some of those at the Dollar Tree) and uumm….coupons! I haven’t even bought the newspaper lately. *hangs head* I know, I know..what have I been thinking?!? So from the beginning, here we go!
I have a binder……I have divider tabs and I still have my old baseball card holders. Now I currently only have 8 tabs….so I need to figure how to organize these coupons….I’m going with this:
- Health/Beauty
- Cleaning
- Refrigerated
- Frozen Foods
- Snacks and Quick Foods
- Canned Foods and Boxed
- Meat and Produce
- All the rest
Now where do I get coupons?!!??
Luckily today we got RedPlum in the mail..so I have a few coupons from there…..and now it’s off to my favorite, Coupons.com to print out a bunch of coupons! Now in the past I printed like EVERY coupon and my binder was exploding. I think that’s why I got overwhelmed and quit all together. This time I am being more selective. I’m not saving coupons for things that we won’t use just because I *might* be able to get them for free one day. It just isn’t worth it to me at this point.
So be on the look out! Lots more coupon deals and steals will be shared in the coming months. I will begin going back to sharing easy ways to clean your home and things you can do to save time and money to help us ALL get through these tough economic times.
Woo hoo! Let’s get saving!!!!

Clipping Coupons is great if I can remember that they expire. Thank you. Jerri Davis
