My kids love to be outside playing. They have bikes and scooters that have kept them occupied for years. We spend time as a family playing outside, the boys throwing the football or going on bike rides to the park. Honestly, I think if my daughter could stay outside 24/7 she would. The second they get home from school she is asking to go play outside.
We are always trying to come up with new and different ways to keep them busy outside. I knew I had to try the Shaun White skateboards….because, well, who doesn’t love Shaun White?! When I mentioned it to my son he, his eyes lit up! My daughter was excited to try out a skateboard in general. We headed to Walmart to see the selection that they had.
Entering the bike area, this is what we found for a selection of skateboards. There were lots of different brands, some cheap, some more expensive…but they all seemed a little flimsy. I don’t want to spend money on something that is going to break right away! I have three kids, I can’t afford to throw money away. I looked around and found the Shaun White skateboards!
I was really excited to check out these boards. They seemed to be put together much better and the boards themselves seemed sturdier than the other brands that were available. Now it was time to figure out which board to buy. That is where the fighting started. I could only purchase one, and all the kids had to agree. How is that going to work?
I took each and every board to the price scanner, they were all the same price, so now it all depends on which design. Of course Kylie wanted one and Rob wanted another. Little Diego could care less, he just wanted to leave the store.
Kylie pleaded with her brother to pick this board, but he wasn’t having it. I finally had to tell them, decide to I’m going to have dad pick out a board and not tell him which you guys wanted. It will be all his decision. Kylie didn’t think that was a good idea, so she agreed with her brother for the yellow/pinkish board. Then we picked up some elbow/knee pads and headed home!
Kylie HAD to the first on the board. She is the clumsiest girl ever, so I was worried she would hurt herself. She kept telling me it would be fine since she was wearing pads. *sigh* She fell a few times, but overall did really well.
