Celebrating Dia de los Reyes with @MiBestBuy and @Xbox #tresreyes

Mi_BestBuy_WHITE

Dia de los Reyes (Three Kings Day) is a holiday that is celebrated throughout Mexico and a few other Latin countries.  On January 6 (12 days after Christmas), Dia de los Reyes is celebrated to commemorate the arrival of Reyes Magos (the Three Wise Men) arriving in Bethlehem with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for baby Jesus.

When children wake up on January 6, they receive gifts, just as Jesus did.  You can imagine why the kids love this holiday….in addition to Christmas, they receive gifts 12 days after Christmas!  Score!  Just when the toys from Christmas are losing their excitement, new ones are brought.

I like to give the kids gifts that are more than just toys.  I want to give them something that celebrates family, that celebrates unity.  In an effort to connect with our Latino consumer more directly, Best Buy is recognizing the important dates and holidays in our Latino customers’ lives. The “Tres Reyes” initiative is a joint effort between Best Buy and Microsoft Xbox to celebrate Three Kings Day, an important day during the Holiday season.

I already have an Xbox 360 with Kinect, so it was the perfect opportunity to get the kids some games to go with it that will help them have fun….together.  I want the kids to play and have fun…together.  There are some great choices, I can get a Just Dance 4 game, or even some Microsoft points to add songs to our already awesome dance games.  Xbox is more than just a gaming system, with Xbox live you have access radio, TV, movies, etc.  We use it for everything it seems.

If you are getting gifts for family members that aren’t in the area, gift cards are the perfect idea.  The easiest way to give gifts your friends and familia will love any time of year is with a Best Buy eGift-Card. Buy them in minutes, and use them immediately.
