Earlier this month I attended a fun little networking event for mommies who work from home in the Albuquerque area. I attend networking events all the time with the ABQ West Chamber of Commerce, but this was my first that was all mommies. Kids were there and everything. Very relaxed and a fun way to connect with other people dealing with the same stresses you are…juggling home and work.

The hostess, Ashley of Ashley’s Edible Art Cupcakes, spoiled us with some delicious cupcakes! When I walked into her home, they were set up on the table and were the cutest little things I had seen! Each cupcake was topped with fondant, that was decorated with silver hearts then out of the top where these cute little crystal hanging things. I don’t know the exact name, but they were SO cute. It was simple, yet that little extra touch that really set it off.
The cupcakes were so amazing. Inside each one was a real strawberry! The cake portion was delicious and the buttercream under the fondant was to-die-for. I couldn’t eat the strawberry (I’m allergic) but the rest was so incredibly amazing. Luckily I could just eat around the strawberry. :)
Ashley sells her cupcakes year-round and is even available for parties! Each of her cupcakes, frostings and decorations are made from scratch. The cupcakes even have flaxseed (unless you don’t want it, but it’s healthy for ya)! Your cupcakes can be filled with any type of fruit filling you’d like.

Her prices are great for all the deliciousness put into each one:
Muffin Size
$3.50 (1)each
$12.50 (4) cupcakes
$18.50 (6) half dozen
Normal Cupcake Size
$2.50 (1)each
$6.50 (4)cupcakes
$10.50 (6) cupcakes
$18.50(13) Bakers dozen
Speciality Cupcakes
$5.50 (Over the top decorating)
For Kylie’s next birthday party, I’m going to have Ashley come and teach the girls how to decorate cupcakes! For $50 she offers an hour of cake decorating, 2 bakers dozen cupcakes (that’s 26 total), up to 5 colors of icing, fondant, piping bags with attachments, cupcake wrappers and sprinkles!! Instead of buying an expensive cake hardly anyone eats or trying to make a cake and it turning out horrible. That’s happened more than I’d like to admit to.
Instead of sending sugary blah-tasting cupcakes from the store to school with my kids, I want to have Ashley make them all for me. Not only will they look prettier, they will taste better and be healthier…can you say that about a cupcake?
