As if going to the World Premiere of Oz The Great and Powerful wasn’t enough, I also got to stay at the amazingly beautiful Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, CA. Doesn’t it look like a castle?! When I was brought from the air port I couldn’t even believe I was going to be staying in such a gorgeous hotel. I felt like a celebrity (and there were rumors that Rachel Weisz was staying there as well, but I never saw her).
A famed Pasadena landmark since 1907, The Langham Huntington is an iconic hotel located at the base of the picturesque San Gabriel Mountains, just minutes miles from downtown Los Angeles in beautiful Pasadena.
The staff at the front desk was so nice and helpful. I was there hours before check-in and they were happy to get me into a different room that was ready so I didn’t have to wait. Although it was said that you can’t get lost in the hotel, I, of course, was always lost. The first day I was surprised to have some delicious chocolates waiting for me. Each night my bed was turned down and on Valentine’s they even left a cookie on my pillow!
I really loved walking around the grounds though. Everything was so pretty. Everywhere you looked it was pretty. The first day, while we were waiting for everyone else to get to the hotel, we all sat in the middle of the courtyard to watch the water and look at the gorgeous flowers while we chatted and got to know each other better.
My favorite part of the entire hotel is the Japanese Garden. I love the cherry blossoms (Sakura). It is my absolute favorite. It was designed from 1911-1914 by William Hertich. I think I could have stood on the bridge staring into the garden the entire time. Although I never got a chance to walk through it, I was happy being able to see it from afar. We were told that it is very popular to get married on that bridge. That would be my absolute dream wedding. So pretty.
