My new house means lots of new decorations #MyKindOfHoliday

Content and/or other value provided by our partner, Target.

I am so excited this is the first year we are in our brand new house.  This is our first year where we will in our own home.  I never thought it would be that big of a deal to be in a home we weren’t renting….but it is.  I finally feel like I can spend the time and money to get the decorations that will last year after year.  Now I know each year that my decorations will fit.  In the past, the houses we rented sometimes had fireplaces, so from year to year I didn’t know if I needed decorations for the mantle…but now I know I have to figure out something else for stockings since we don’t have a fire place.  Darn it!

I’ve already started eye balling the decorations at Target.  I love love love their items.  I want a classy but really festive look.  I am going to stock up on items like the Mercury Glass below.  It’s so pretty and eye catching.  Don’t you think that Christmas is all about the pretty and stunning displays throughout the house?  I love trees and bulbs and candles…and all of it.

I want my new house to be a winter wonderland.  I might live in the desert and we may not get a ton of snow, but I want my house to *feel* like winter.  I haven’t bought anything yet but I’m eye balling what I want to get and figuring out where to put things.

Having a new house is a lot of work…..hopefully next year will be a lot easier since I’ll have the foundation of everything I need.    Each holiday is like a brand new start.  I’m not even going to lie, I walk up and down the holiday aisles at Target every time I go, even if I’m just there for milk.  I love the style of items that Target carries.  Everything looks high dollar, but I’m not spending a fortune on it.  Can’t get any better than that!

Do you go all out to decorate your house for the holidays?  What is the most important part of your decorating?
